One today

Though “we are the majority” (Remember — only 26% of the electorate voted for Trump) my position today is not of supporter but of defender. I must pay attention to the difference between fact and opinion; hype and reality; bluster and truth. Pay attention to words, pay attention to creeping changes, each a signal that there may be something more to do or know. I must pay attention to myself, making sure I don’t start accepting things I once thought unfathomable. I must pay attention to what others say who think differently. Mine is not the only truth. I must pay attention so much more, while still reading poetry and hugging my partner when he comes through the door, for

We head home: through the gloss of rain or weight
of snow, or the plum blush of dusk, but always—home,
always under one sky, our sky. And always one moon
like a silent drum tapping on every rooftop
and every window, of one country—all of us—
facing the stars
hope—a new constellation
waiting for us to map it,
waiting for us to name it—together.”

(Richard Blanco, Inaugural Poem January 20, 2013)

  1. No poet at this inauguration. Enough said.

  2. I am not sure the place you’re getting your information, but good topic. I needs to spend some time finding out more or figuring out more. Thanks for excellent information I was looking for this information for my mission.
